- AERATION AND OVERSEEDING
If your lawn has thin or bare areas, fall is the best time to sow fescue grass (Sept-Nov). Weed-Out Lawn Spray uses state of the art aerating and seeding equipment. The Ventrac AERA-VATOR is designed to provide all the benefits of the traditional core aerators, but also as it is aerating it is also vibrating back and forth to shatter the soil to create the absolute best and most uniform seed bed. The AERA-VATOR also creates a core hole without bringing a plug of soil to the surface, leaving the turf ready for immediate use after treatment.
Benefits of having your lawn aerated by Weed-Out Lawn Spray:
- Helps loosen compacted soil and improves oxygen in the soil.
- Helps break down thatch.
- Helps your grass absorb nutrients better.
- Encourages deep root growth for your grass.
- If properly done, makes a good seed bed for better germination results.
Benefits of having your lawn over-seeded by Weed-Out Lawn Spray:
- All the benefits from lawn aerating.
- We apply a premium seed and starter fertilizer.
- We have the equipment to properly prepare the soil for good seeding results.
- We leave you the homeowner with an aftercare letter to further assure good seeding results.
- If aftercare letter is followed, we will provide follow up service if any bare or thin spots appear.
Fungus is always present in lawns. After the fungus becomes active, it will continue to get worse until weather conditions are no longer favorable. After conditions are no longer favorable, the fungus will go dormant. The grass will recover, but the fungus will still be noticeable until damage is mowed away. Established grass usually always recovers, but the fungus can be damaging to young immature grass. The Brown Patch fungus is very common. This type of fungus is common between April 15 and June 15. It becomes active during periods of high humidity and temperatures between 75-85, and is triggered by moisture. Other common fungi in the area are Rust, Powdery Mildew, and Dollar Spot.
We offer a fungus application to stop any further damage from occurring, but the damage will still be visible until mowed away. If weather conditions remain favorable multiple applications may be necessary.
Some home owners will start watering their lawns when the fungus becomes active, assuming the lawn is under heat stress. The watering only causes the fungus to spread further. Bagging grass clippings if possible will help control the spread of fungus.
